Session designated over $20,000 additional dollars to the Rumple Missions Committee to be dispersed early in 2020.

Blowing Rock CARES entered the Rotary Chili Challenge at this year’s Winterfest after being away for a couple of years. We partnered with Town Tavern of Blowing Rock for the chili, thanks to Justin Davis (the owner and one of our new Board members) and Melissa Pickett, wife of former Board member Ray Pickett. We thank Brett and Charleen, staff at Town Tavern, for serving the yummy chili and jalapeño corn bread, and for doing such a good job of promoting Blowing Rock CARES at the same time. Many thanks also to volunteers Joanie Shirley, Paul Horton, Sylvia Tarleton, and Mary Hutchens for taking turns promoting Blowing Rock CARES, and to new Board member Jann Kip for taking some photos. There was a good size crowd for a snowy day. We raised $265 in cash donations, and Town Tavern made a matching donation in addition to the chili. I’d say it was a good day for Blowing Rock CARES.
